Working Together Jackson has worked with , Hope Enterprise Corporation, and local public officials to address the problem of access to quality food in the neighborhoods of Jackson. The recent opening of the Jackson Cash & Carry Store in the old Kroger building is a part of that work.
Food Deserts normally occur whenever the access to quality/healthy food is over a 10 mile radius to a community.
Working Together Jackson is currently partnering with the American Heart Association to build support for a Fresh Food Finance Initiative in Jackson, Hinds County and throughout the state of Mississippi.
